Our home reflects our well-being.
A lot of us have been confronted with having to spend more time at home than ever before. Spending all this time amongst our belongings, we are confronted with the clutter that comes with living our lives indoors.
The accumulating trash, dishes, papers, and clutter that comes from shifting our time inside can make it feel like there is no space to store everything or not knowing the right place for somethings. There is that saying that says “out of sight, out of mind.” So, we proceed to hid things in drawers, closets, under beds and furniture.
What I have learnt from my studies of Feng Shui is that all these items carry energy and the more things we have, the more energy is emitted and an invisible source of stress begins to block us and produce overwhelming feelings
There are many reasons for which we choose not to let go of certain belongings. There are items we use and need in our daily lives but there are a lot of clothing and items that we hold on to for more sentimental reasons or simply not wanting to deal with making decisions. Whatever the reason, by not letting these objects go, this compounds the inner stress we carry within us. We try meditation, exercise, or other inward-looking ways to get rid of stress, when it is the very things surrounding us that are making it impossible for us to clear our minds.
So, I challenge you to take a deeper look into your home. Over the course of the next posts, I will delve into various rooms of the home as we unpack how to declutter them. It is important to remember that without an organized and decluttered room, we can not create a space that can support and even lift you. We will be looking inward to let our intuition guide us on spaces that make us feel uncomfortable or that we avoid.
